Princess Junjung Buih Palace
“Princes Junjung Buih Palace” is one of palace which located in archeological site of Agung temple. The history of Princess Junjung Buih palace is started from the governance period of princess Junjung Buih.
Once upon a time, there were two strongman named Sukmaraga and Padmaraga. They were son of Empu Mandastana. They were also so enourmous like a knight.
One day, when Sukmaraga and Padmaraga were walking around the park of palace/castle, they saw Princess Junjung Buih who had beautiful face and if had make the other princess become envy with her. At the time, Sukmaraga and Padmaraga fell in love with princess Junjung Buih. Althought they knew that if there was someone loves the princess, the curse of idol would threaten all of the people and put them in danger until seven generation.
Hearing that, their uncle Lambung Mangkurat was so angry. Then he met Sukmararaga and Padmaraga as soon as possible. He said “You both are renegade men. There will be curse of idol which threaten all of the people until seven generation in the whole of this country”.
In one night, Lambung Mangkurat and his nephews went fishing. But suddenly, the net was stuck and Lambung Mangkurat asked Sukmaraga to repair the net. Sukmaraga did what his uncle said. Not long after words there was whirlpool and drowned Sukmaraga. When Patmaraga saw the incident, he jumped into the whirlpool to help Sukmaraga. But unfortunately, they drowned together in the whirlpool.
The incident was a sign for the curse of idol had happened. Sukmaraga and Padmaraga had become victims for the whole people in the country.
Dewi Ratna was very sad for what had happened to her sons. She took Empu Mandastana’s creese and then stabbet it to her body. Finally, Dewi Ratna died.
After his wife died, Empu Mandastana who was so sorrowful took the creese and stabbet it to his body. At last they all died.
This tragic incident showed that Empu Mandastana’s family was over.
The place where the incident happened to Empu Mandastana and Dewi Ratna on side of a lake near the Kingdom is called ”Princess Junjung Buih Palace”.
